We are selling our apartment. And hoping to buy a house. The selling part by far seems to be the easier of the two so far but it's all one huge exercise in patience and getting used to that hurry-up-and-wait feeling.

| It's like a whole new view with these clean windows! |
Two Saturday's ago we got up at the crack of dawn, had our windows washed, then had the professional photos taken and our first open house the very next day. I've never seen our apartment look so sparkling. You're free to check those out
here. Now, just under 2 weeks later, we have a few offers on our place, have been out to the 'burbs a couple times, have seen some houses we hated, we completely disagreed on, a couple we'd be happy living in and one we both thought separately and then together "this is it." And we have weighed and measured and budgeted and engaged in a ton of pro-con discussions, and finally, started "the process." The waiting game for what is possibly the biggest purchase (and longest lasting) of our lives.

Naturally the house we love has another offer. Because after 6 months of being on the market with no traction that's exactly how it happens (and I just found out the exact same thing is happening to a coworker who's also trying to buy. Sketchy). So who knows. We can only put our best foot forward while also not being complete suckers (we do negotiate for a living here) and see what happens. What is certain is that we aren't getting our hopes up. There are way too many thing that can go wrong at this point, which is why we didn't even want to say much in the first place but now most everyone who reads this (or my twitter feed) already knows, or has guessed. And I hate being
that person who deals in ambiguities. So this is it. Our BIG news.
And otherwise it's business as usual. Mo has tons of new words (Uh-oh, bye-bye- pronounced dye-dye, chou- means pig in Mandarin, etc). She is also such a love. She went out to look at houses with us and LOVED climbing all the stairs. She was a major trooper this past weekend going from house to house but seemed to have a good time with minimal meltdowns (usually only when I wouldn't let her climb up or down the stairs). Her teachers have also told us that she's been "sassy" to them, which I find hilarious, if a little disconcerting. But she's a super sweet, amazing and bright little girl and I just love her blossoming personality.
