Well, it's been a long week. Or, more appropriately, a loooonnnnnngggggg week. We've been living in Rockland County at Bill's friends place since last Tuesday and it's been by far the best phase of our 3 phase move. Dan and his wife Joy have twins, Jacob and Kathryn, and they've been so sweet with Mo. They're really loving and gentle kids, I don't need to worry about hitting or throwing or pushing, which is so nice for both Mo and my peace of mind too. Plus they already have a million toys so we really haven't been missing hers at all.
The commute isn't terrible either. It's no picnic, but Bill and I have been trading off (though he still does the majority of the driving). The commute from Danbury should be similar except no awful bridges and we'll hit the FDR a little further south of the badly congested areas (hopefully). I also drove out of the city all by myself with Mo last week when Bill had a dinner and it was, dare I say, like riding a bike.

Also, did I mention the house is gorgeous. That building behind the pool is the pool house. So yeah, that helps.

This past weekend we really got things done by buying a bedroom set for both ourselves and Mo as well as some other minor furniture things we needed immediately. Afterwards we hit up brunch in the city with my friends Preethi, Amena, Leah, Janet, Rick and Erica, then we raced to Jersey where we ended up buying a car! We got an amazing deal on a Ford Fusion (our top preference) that came right into our budget, and decided to pull the trigger (well we're offically pulling the trigger on Friday after our mortgage goes through). But deposits are down, insurance is updated and we're ready to roll. On Sunday we bought a grill and a lawn mower, then checked out our neighborhood Stew Leonards (officially in love), and did a drive by past the house- and our first time seeing the place sans snow. And tomorrow we close. This is the most expensive week of my life, haha, and I still need to buy our bedsets later this week too. But it's really once in a lifetime (maybe twice) so it's really totally worth it.

Mo "valeting" the cars while Jacob talks on his cell phone. I think the joke is obvious

It's like real life Mario Kart!

Mo checking out cars. She was a tough negotiator

Bill and I played scrabble!
Upcoming:
- This time tomorrow we will be homeowners!!!! OMG!!!!
- We have a date at The Water's Edge on Thursday night to finally use our Christmas gift and celebrate our official new homeowner status.
- Movers and furniture come on Wednesday. Cable on Friday. Bill also needs to hit up the CT DMV before we can officially get the car, then drop off the rental, pick up our car and possibly later that day grab Cousin Col's bedset that she's giving us and pick up another couch that Bill's friend is also giving us. Oye.
- Saturday we're off to Boston for the weekend... and might see Mo's new baby cousin (if he/she decides to make an appearance by then that is).
