So Much Going On With This Mango!

Another quick post that's mostly pics. It's been nonstop the past 2 weeks, last week we were in Connecticut for Max's (Josh and Lisa's son) 1st birthday, and this past weekend we headed to Westchester for a BBQ  in Suburbia at Justin, Cara and Lily's new house. On Sunday we trekked to Chinatown to get this Mango used to some Asian flavors (she was a champ!). It's nonstop this next week and then Tennessee! But here's what we've been up to!

First, some school pics, starting with Donuts for Dad to celebrate Father's Day.

Last weekend we got ourselves a zip car (a minivan, no less, to really fit in in the burbs) and headed to Stamford for Bill's friend Josh's sons 1st birthday. It was lots of fun!

Last Sunday we watched the USA v. Portugal game down the street at our fav local Mexican place, which was perfect and rowdy enough for a Mango.

And last Monday I also took the day off to hang with my girl and actually have a second to breathe ** Work Talk Rant** This promotion stuff at work is nonstop, never-ending. It could be next week or next year... until then, I keep chasing that dangling carrot. We lost a major pitch I worked on (due to fee, something CFO level, ugh), but since then I've worked on 3 other new business pitches and one is currently in the final rounds. This is all while I keep up with my current 3 clients fulltime, including a client fieldtrip downtown last week, and try to get front and center with the promotion decision makers (10 people on our exec committee). All while trying to rock it as an awesome mom/house"wife"-domestic goddess/good daughter/sister/friend/etc. It's a lot, but I know that I'm so lucky to not only love my job and even be in a position for a promotion, but just to have one. But sometimes a girl needs a little break. **End Work Talk Rant** We went to core class with Melissa and Jaz, then met up with a new Mom friend, Gwen and her son Alex for some lunch and a playdate.

Last Thursday my coworker Leah hosted game night and the Mango was invited. She ate some avocados, explored a non-baby proofed apartment (a very nice one on Long Island City!), and provided some entertainment before crashing mid-Cards Against Humanity.

This past Saturday we watched the Chile v. Brazil game at a pub near Grand Central, then hopped on a train out to visit Bill's friend Justin and his family at their new home. We hung out outside, watched a bocce game, Bill and Justin played a little ball, we got some good recommendations for 6 year old girls sports (soccer and lacrosse are good, DON'T do tee ball), BBQ'd and dined al fresco, all while the Mango enjoyed the deck and got semi-comfortable with the grass.

And our dimsum adventure yesterday.

She ate some pork buns, dumplings, sticky rice and some shrimp. All perfectly off my chopstick!
Later yesterday we check out the Seal water park at East River then hung out on the blanket and Mango once again dined al fresco (such a nice habit!).

Moira is fully standing just holding on with one arm, and can shuffle along pretty good. We're thinking walking is imminent.
Upcoming:
  • Counting Crows tonight at Central Park Summerstage that Bill's friend invited us too!!!!!
  • My office is closed on the 3rd so Mango and I are doing a music class at the South Street Seaport then a lunch playdate with Melissa and Jaz
  • Our 4th plans fell through so we'll be staying local and attending a BBQ on the 4th at Bill's friend Dan's place
  • Maybe a Governor's Island excursion that weekend too?
  • Next week I have a dinner Wed, a happy hour Thurs and then flying to Knoxville on Friday to begin our Gatlingburg/Smokey Mountain adventure!
  • Lots after but I just can't process it at this moment.
